Spacecraft Launch Configuration at left shows sail blades rolled up, and photovoltaic panels stowed, inside the aero shroud. In the Deployed Configuration above, the thin, reflective sail material can be seen stretched between translucent, inflated support arms. Notice that the sail blades deploy in two planes, four above, and four below. |
